Alfredo Bowman aka Dr. Sebi
Pathologist, Herbalist, and Naturalist
Dr. Sebi was a herbalist and naturalist who studied plants across North America, Central and South America, Africa, and the Caribbean. Over more than 30 years, he developed a distinctive plant-based, alkaline approach to food and herbs that has influenced wellness communities worldwide.
Methodology
Dr. Sebi was born Alfredo Bowman on November 26, 1933, in the village of Ilanga in Spanish Honduras. A self-educated man, he took cues on living in tune with nature from his beloved grandmother, "Mama Hay." His early days by the river and in the forest, along with his grandmother's guidance, shaped the philosophy he would carry into later life.
Sebi came to the United States and, after his own search for a more natural way of living, was led to an herbalist in Mexico named Alfredo Cortez. Inspired by that experience, he began creating plant-based, alkaline food compounds rooted in his belief in natural, whole-food nutrition. He dedicated over 30 years to developing and refining this approach through years of study and observation.
Inspired by his personal journey and the knowledge he gained, he began sharing his approach with others, giving rise to Dr. Sebi's lasting legacy in the natural-living and plant-based community.
